Backup lights stay on

The backup lights on the trailer stay on even when the tow vehicle is turned off. Any ideas why?

There is most likely a short somewhere. Look at the umbilical cable/ plug first, then trace it down the line. Should be a simple find.

A mis wire or a connection from the back up light wire to 12 volts +. Since the Argosy year in question used the color code similar to the Airstreams of that era, I would guess someone has changed to a new tow vehicle plug and has the wires hooked up wrong due to color code changes from then to now.

Atomic No13, When was an electrical fix, easy. I never remember that as the case, HA HA! THAT BEING SAID I AGREE ON THE SHORT. OPEN THE PLUG AT THE END OF THE UMBILICAL AND THAT MAY BE THE CULPRIT. FOR THE LIFE OF ME I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND THE DESIGN OF THAT PLUG AND THE RECEPTACLE ON THE TOW VEHICLE. Excuse the caps (CAPS LOCK ON). Not enough room in there to not have a short!
