I take apart the truck end connector on the cord and find the center wire ( heavy blue wire) is not connected. I replace the end and hook up the center wire which all info I have says is the backup. Now when I plug into the truck the truck backup lights come on instantly and stay on. The truck isn't even running.

Seems as if the backup wire and charge wire are somehow crossed. How can I track this down

Should the TV charge line have power when the truck is off? If so, wouldn't this allow you to discharge the TV battery when sleeping in a walmart parking lot still hitched up?

I know it is unreasonable to use that much power in one night but I am just using it as an example.

The power from the TV may or may not remain on depending on TV. Newer TV control this by the ignition switch.

There is only power to the battery charge wire when the tow vehicle key is turned on.

OK, I swapped out the blue and black on the cord truck end and the backups now work as they should. It still appears as though the coach batt. is not getting a charge off the running truck. It is getting a charge off shore power. I'll work on that next.

I just discovered that on my unit as well. I never realized when I bought the TV (2012 Ford F150 Plat) the little package in the glove compartment had an extra fuse and relay in it. This past trip we could not figure out what caused the Batteries to loose power in the AS. So we pulled off I40 in OK at an RV Sales place. Those folks nailed it fast. For the life of me I could not remember where I put that container (Fuse and Relay) . Cost me about $24 total for both - No labor. Really nice folks. Still scratching my head as to why Ford doesn't just install them automatically.
