this what the ext light assembly looks like.
there is only one wire. as the case is grounded, i only need to pull one wire.

i also d/l a few support parts from the AS site for AS that have the light. so far none show the schematic or even the door light

I just posted the same question. If you come up with a solution please put it on the forum.

i finished adding the light above the door

i could not pull a wire as there was a vertical beam in the wall between the door and the inside light switch

i drilled a hole inside under the light cap and then a small one inside and lower under the head bumper cushion. by removing the metal strip, i was able to hide to 22 Ga 12 v Dc wires behind the cushion and behind the metal strip
i then pulled the wire 9 " to the light switch

now the over head door light goes one when we turn the foot light on.

it took about a day to do, assuming you have all the tools and bits

i also drilled two holes in the door gutter then tapped the housing so that i could pull down the light housing tight. i then caulked above the cover so that water goes into the gutter and not behind the light frame. as use the one roof tape to seal these two screw hoes in the gutter so the water does not leak through

be sure to move the plastic light filter first with some adhesive before mounting the light frame. You cant do it afterwords
