7 Pin pdf - Trailer or plug view

http://www.airstream.com/docs/7wayplug1966-81.pdf

Is this looking at the male end (trailer) or the plug on the pigtail (in my hand) to connect to the trailer.

Just bought my first AS. 1971 Trade Wind 25 footer, and I need to get this home. Owner couldn't find the pigtail, so I am in the process of making it, but don't know what I am viewing.

Thanks

Colin

Look "very" carefully at the back side of the connectors, provided they are the original "signal stat" or the Pollack connectors.

In small print, you will see the color listed next to each terminal.

Hook up the color wires as the connectors say, and you will be fine.

plugs

I'm in the process of hooking mine up.
The white would be at the top and the red at the bottom as shown below.
If my other colors don't match it just because that is the way that we wired up the plug. Everything works (so far).

I tested my tow vehicles with a 7-way tester. They tested okay. Then I wired the trailer plug with the tester. Then I wired the cord with the tester. The cord I bought had a molded end and when I tested the setup I had to reverse two wires in the cord plug. Now it all works and will work with any vehicle wired to a standard 7-way plug. It took a little time but it was all easy to do.

Eastern South Dakota is very pretty with hills, rivers, and trees.

Thanks folks. Find out if everything goes smoothly tomorrow eve.

I know the tires are dry rotted, but here's hoping the rest is good once I get into it.

Will post photo's soon.

Thanks again for your time.

Picked it up, and got it home OK. Lights worked when I pulled it out of the parking spot, but then only marker lights worked. Limped it home that way, thinking it might be a ground issue, have to spend a few minutes and check what pins go where with a tester and a 12V supply, and make sure I have it hooked up right.
