'69 Airstream Overlander Tail lights

Hello! We recently acquired a 69 Overlander. Does anyone know if the newer model taillight assemblies would work on our 69 model?

What if the inside housing is missing or has rusted out? The attached picture is what ours currently looks like.

Our LED tail light requires the removal of the metal tail light can anyways.

Vintage Trailer Supply sells those tail light buckets. You can order them through his website.

Thanks Andy! I couldn't really tell if they were required or not.

The cans are not needed when some brands of LED tail lights are installed.

Andy,
How do they mount if the cans are not needed?

LED lights, if you wish, last at least a life time.

The tail lights are held in place with a small bead of Vulkem sealer, which also lasts a life time.

Also, our LED tail lights for your Airstream will accept the tail light monitor system.

For those that don't mount in cans, you glob a crapload of Vulkem in the hole, then wipe off what gets shoved out of the hole when you push the "no mounting hardware" lights in the holes.
