2017 25" FC FB What is this light switch for?

These light switches are just inside the door, above the battery disconnect switch. The second switch from the top (w/ dimmer) doesn't seem to do anything. I thought it might control the dinette light, once on, but no. The top switch (w/dimmer) controls the ceiling lights (ex. in bedroom) and the other 2 control the patio light and the step light.

Any insight/help is appreciated.

George

BTW: The brochure from the Airstream website states that the LED Patio Awning Light is dimmable, but it is not. Too bad.

Those switches are for the main living area lights (dimmable) awning lights (dimmable) step and scare lights (non-dimmable).

Top switch with dimmer is interior lights.
Next switch down with dimmer is for the light strip under the awning. (this one would appear to do nothing with awning closed.)
Next two switches are for the outside step light (dim and tiny) and outside side light (big and bright).

Mystery solved!

Thanks for the replies. I didn't realize there was a light strip under the awning (not had the awning extended yet). That's nice to know. It will be interesting to see how much light it puts out when I take her out for the first time next week.

I'm also wondering how much light that step light will put out; not as good as the 2003 International I traded in. It had a hooded porch light over the door that shone down on the steps. It also had a cool clear plastic grab bar with "AIRSTREAM" etched on it that lit up with the porch light. Speaking of the grab bar I can't grab the one on the new unit when the awning is retracted but it looks kind of small. Well, I guess you can't have everything. All in all, we're very happy with our new Airstream. I'm sure there will be some bugs to work out though.

Cheers
George

I have the same question on my 2005 25 ft Safari SS. There is an extra light switch on the panel that does not appear to control anything. I use the switches for the scare light, step light, and interior recessed lights. But this one remains a mystery.....

Hi - I have the 2016 7FB, which has similar entry light switches to the 25 - our dealer warned us to be careful to not have the awning lights on when the awning is retracted, since even though they're LEDs, the bases put out heat which can damage the awning. This is what we were told, haven't tested it.

Also, our entry door has a small, hard-to-use grab handle on the outside by the steps, but it also has a larger handle to the right of the door on the inside by the dinette bench (which took me a little while to notice - the handle not the bench ) - don't know if the 25 also has that, but it's much easier to use when going down the steps.

My LED lights for the awning seem to stay on 24x7, no matter if I have the switch flipped or not. They do get brighter with the dimmer though. Is this the case for anyone else? I'll have the trailer back at the dealership for numerous problems (2017 FC 25 FB) only a couple months old so I was planning to ask them.

Kittycatcat, thanks for the heads-up re: not leaving the awning light on when awning retracted; hadn't thought of that.

The light switshes are on the side of the kitchen counter as you enter the trailer. There is a fold-down shelf just ahead of same switches; grabing it to help ones entry is not an option

Cheers

This is probably not the right answer, but just in case.......

Do you mean the light underneath the cabinet above the dinette? Because this light in my 27 FC is only controlled by the little switch right on the fixture. Wall switches won't affect it. Might be different in the 27 IS...

Thank you for answering, took it back to dealer, light switch was not wired. They fixed & we used our new signature for first time.
