12-volt outlets

Greetings -

Our AS does not have any 12-volt outlets (indoors or out) - has anyone installed them inside? If so where did you put them and how did you do it? We've got a couple of 12-volt items we'd like to use and I want to add a few outlets for them.

I've installed a couple of them indoors in strategic locations. Where I mounted them on outside walls, I used a teak spacer behind the mounting plate to keep the center (hot) connection from shorting out against the skin. Use at least #12 stranded wire and be sure to fuse it appropriately. I wrapped the whole thing in lots of rubber electrical tape.
