what's the shower curtain hook look like?

I am trying to find an example of a shower curtain hook for my 62 Overlander. There is a "c" shaped track that follows the contor or the ceiling and wall. I believe something slid in that track... anyone know what that something is and even what it looks like. I will try to add a photo to my web album later today, but someone knows what I am talking about... they probably own a 1960- 64.

Our 63 had that same setup, and a 63 I salvaged parts out of had the tattered remains of a shower curtain on that piece. The curtain was hung by little square plastic clips that, of course, slid along. It was fastened at the front (trailer front) end with a pair of snaps, and the curtain looked like it was curved to match the trailer. There was also a fabric band that looked like it was supposed to hold the curtain back against the wall when not in use.
I gave up all hope of ever getting all pieces needed to make it work, and hung a shower curtain there.

How bout these hooks in the tracks then cut the bottom of a cotton shower curtain so when it's open it's even. Make sure the curtain has metal reinforced holes. Does that make sense..?

Thanks for that lead... the IFC-200 looks like a very likely canidate. The IFC-300 might be it to. I will contact them on Monday and get a sample of each sent, that way I can see what works. The straight bar Overlander63 showed looks good, but the track looks sexy following the curve of the trailer. I kind of want to keep it somewhat 1962.
Any other leads are welcome.

If you get the trailer ready to camp before you get the shower curtain stuff, the option I showed involved a total of 4 screws to hold in place (the holes can be riveted shut later). The curtain was obviously as 1960's-ish as I could find.

your shower looks great... In three weeks we will take Anna to our first rally and her ? rally there is a ghost shadow of the numbers 10183, so she must have been to some rallies in the past. Her new numbers are 7183, but I won't put those on until I finish polishing. So, the rally is at a campground and we will use the facilities there. I need to do some work on the tub, among many other things, and that will happen this winter. I have plenty of time until the need to actually use the shower arises.

Your shower appears to be like ours. I took these pictures to show our channel and slides. The slides I got at our local RV parts and accessory store.

I 'think' we found them at Home Depot in the bath accessories area. Several people have commented on them. We went back to see if there were more but I guess they were popular and have not seen them again.

This works in the extruded C-shaped track, the kind found in the wet bath of late 50's-early 60's trailers. Go to your local hardware store and get some #10 beaded ball chain, #10 end ring couplings, and #10 splicing links. With all my playing around with possibilities, I used 6 feet of chain and about 10 each end rings and links. Your mileage may vary. Remove the screw at the bottom of the track and one single ball from the chain slides in perfectly. A little silicone lube in the track helps.

Instead of cutting the curtain to follow the curve, I made the top of the curtain hang straight across the top by graduating the length of chain from back to front of the track. Terminate each chain "hanger" from the track with an end ring coupler and slip in your curtain hooks. Instead of hooks, I made 4" loops with chain and a splice link. Cut or alter your curtain to suit if desired. Pictures help:

Any ideas on where to find track that will bend with the curve? Mine is missing altogether, and the aluminum track I have found seems to stiff to bend..the plastic track is pretty cheesball! Ideas?

It should bend. The ones that are in those trailers were straight to begin with, and had to be bent to fit. Maybe find a 55 gallon drum, and use that to help guide the bend, and prevent kinks. Umm, bend the rail on the drum, then carry the rail into the trailer, it would be counterproductive to try dragging the drum inside...

I'd look for someone parting out a late 50s/early 60s. My trailer is actually pictured above, in Terry's photo, so I still have the curved track. I dig it and think I'll use one or more of the ideas mentioned on this thread to revive and reuse it. I'm about to begin the bathroom rebuild, so this old thread popped up at a very opportune time.

I tried finding a replacement track that would bend to the shape of the ceiling and found only cheaper plastic ones that would handle the new shape. Aluminum would be my first choice if it could do the bend without deforming too much, but any metal C channel just won't do it. The opening deforms too much with the bend.

I now think I will reuse the old plastic one which I also can't seem to get the correct clips for. Our local rv parts house has about ten different ones, none of which will work with the track from 1964. Innovation, here I come!

Another idea I had for this was to rivet snaps in place of the track and use those as attaching points for a new curtain. The shower is so small I don't really need the curtain to slide.
