What years and models of Airstreams have a bath tub?

Hi Guys,

I am in search of an airstream, that has a bath tub. I'm looking for a longer 30+ foot model and have gone crosseyed trying to figure out what model/year combinations came with the bath tub!

Thanks much,

Zach

Welcome to the forums. I know the 31' Sovereign and Excella models had bathtubs from at least 1969-1980.

What years and models of Airstreams have a bath tub?

Greetings Zach!

Welcome to the Forums!

Starting sometime in the early-to-mid-1960s, most of the 24' and longer Airstreams had a modest-sized bathtub in their rear bathrooms. The same would hold true for all first generation Argosy travel trailers . . . 24' and above have modest-sized bathtubs in their rear bathrooms. I am not aware of any Airstreams that offer a mid-bath with a bathtub . . . it seems that the only bathtubs offered were in the rear bathrooms (I could be mistaken on this as I have never been a fan of the mid-coach-bath floorplans -- so haven't been paing close attention).

Good luck with your investigation!

Kevin

P.S.: You might find more information about floorplans of a partiular coach that you might be considering through this link.

Hi,

I know for a fact there was a 32 ft rear bath w/ tub in 90.
There was a 27ft rear bath w/ tub in the mid 80's.
Rear baths were common 1980 back to the 50's.
I think side baths did not begin till the 73 model year.

Good luck in your search.

Both my '77 and my '63 have tubs. My '91 34' does not.

maybe Argosies bigger than 24'?

@Overlander64: My '75 Argosy24 just has a shower pan about 5" deep in the rear bath. I don't know if it's a year issue, a feature that was only on larger-than-24' Argosies or some sort of option. I have the original "window sticker" sort of list of options on mine from when it was originally sold, and there's nothing mentioned about any options in the bath, but it mentions the optional dinette so I assume the shower pan is standard for mine.

It's probably moot though, since the OP is looking for bigger trailers. Personally, I prefer the shower pan, but then again I prefer just a shower at home too.

Our 1988 34' has a full bathtub--we have the walk through bath. The tub is 4' long and sits over part of the wheel well so there is a shelf at the wall about a foot higher than the bottom of the tub. Gives you a place to sit all your stuff for a bath and makes the shower fairly spacious for a travel trailer.

Here's a link to the 1988 floorplans--our plan is in the top, right corner. Good luck in your search.

Here's a link to many of the models made by Airstream sorted by decade. Lots of floorplans. May help you to sift through and narrow down what you are looking for.

Good catch . . . I was working from memory without checking my literature . . . made the assumption that the Argosy 24 used the same bath tooling as the similar model TradeWind. I knew that the rear door model had a shower to make the bath more compact, but it looks like the standard Argosy 24 floorplan always had a shower . . . at least the three years of literature that I sampled before writing this message.
