Waterless toilet??

Has anyone used a Lavco Dry Flush waterless toilet? I thought this may be a good solution on the Bambi Sport given the combo grey/black tank. Any ideas?

I just installed a Dry Flush toilet by Laveo (not Lavco) in my '67 Caravel. The toilet just fit on the platform and I have not used it yet (still renovating the trailer). I like it so far.

Since I installed this toilet, I removed the black water tank and associated vent piping. Since the black tank helped support the platform/toilet, I fabricated a wood box and slid it under the platform for added support.

Wow! Sounds like you have a real project on your hands... We are contemplateing a new 16 sport as a vacation camper but have nooooo desire to use the stinky slinky for anything but gray water. I am curious how difficult it would be to remove the toilet from the wet bath, plug and cover the flange to the black/gray tank, and set a dry flush in its place. Another factor would be being able to put the rv toilet back in place for resale purposes....

That toilet apparently requires power, or a self-contained battery?

Laveo is a NO

We purchased the Laveo about a year ago, hoping to avoid adding a black tank to our rebuilt 72.

In short-don't purchase one. It seems like a great idea but it simply does not work properly. As you may have read in reviews, the vacuum/twisting method results in liquid waste coming through and pooling in the toilet.

We are really disappointed-had hoped that this would solve many issues.

The Laveo owner's manual suggests you add a bit of kitty litter or water in the toilet bowl if you have an issue with liquid waste...just need a bit of mass/weight.

To the previous poster, yes, the toilet needs 120 volt power to charge the battery every two months of regular use. So, if you charge prior to any trip, you are fine on battery power alone.
