The RV closet flange is a common replacement part. If you need it gone, and it won't cooperate, hack it off, and go get a replacement, you can even get them at Home depot.
Also, try to ignore Micheal, he's been that way ever since we fed him the "funny" hot dog at a ralley a few years ago...
