Unhappy Toilet replacement

Hello

I just bought a 1964 Globetrotter, and I'm sure that I will many many questions. But to start I was removing the entire batroom out of my little GT, the tub/sink/toilet surround all came out fine, but that left me with just the china bowl and the alloy base of my original thetford toilet standing there on top of the black tank. When I tried to remove the toilet the alloy base just crumbled and fell right off the closet bolts. My question is, has anyone found a way to replace the base of this toilet, or do I need to replace the entire unit. What would be a suitable replacement that wouldn't bugger up the original toilet bench. Thanks a bunch for your help.

Ben

Ben.

You have found as many others have in the past, that when you touch that riser, it falls apart.

There is no replacement for it.

The only practical replacement toilet will stick up through the bench.

If you don't want to do that, then you are in for a long search that has a brick wall.

Ask others.

Andy

Oh Andy say it aint so

I really expected that this would be the answer to my question. So I guess what I need to know is, which toilet others have used and what result they have had. Of course any pics of such projects would be very helpful.

Thanks again

Ben
