Toilet leak 2015 flying cloud

It looks like we have a leaky fitting or valve on our 2015 flying cloud toilet. On our way home we discovered this drip leak, won't get home until tomorrow. What do you think is the problem?Click image for larger version

Hard to say from the photo- I assume you tried to hand tighten the black fitting.

Our toilet leak in 2013 FC

In our first year with our FC, we woke up to a "river" of water from the bathroom to the front couch - most of the 30 foot length of the trailer. It ended at a bedspread that had been on the couch and fell to the floor. We weren't very level with the trailer tongue down. I was pretty disappointed to have another thing to fix. This one was an easy one even for me to figure out. The one pipe at the bottom of the toilet wasn't fully tight - I turned it three-quarters of a turn to tighten it, and we had no more leak.

We were lucky on that one - I hope yours is a quick fix also.

You can shut the white value. Flush the hopper to relieve the pressure and open up the black fitting to check the washer. Look for a pinch or a roll and straighten it out put it back together and open the value.

fitting leak.

We also have a 2015 AS, flying cloud. Had a leak at the output of fresh water pump. Turned out to be a pex clamp ring not tight enough. I cut off the hose and applied a hose clamp.
The alternate was 220 miles and 2 ferry rides, so took care of it myself.

It was a bad valve. I was sent a free replacement under warranty. My wife was able to switch it out in about 20 minutes.

Leaks

The obvious way to determine if you have a water leak is to listen for the pump to cycle. And, i have had two failures of the water inlet valve, resulting in no leak inside, but loss of pressure so the pump would cycle about every hour. In a previous unit, 27FB Int, I believe the valve which allowed the water to flush the toilet was slowly leaking into the toilet, thus the pump cycle again.

On my moho, I had four water leaks inside, two big ones with water all over, plus a total failure of the pump system when in northern Canada, so I learned to be grateful for the simple issues of an AS.

@Jukeboxfun I had the same issue. Did it happen during a cold snap? I am going to add one of those to the "spares bin"...

I should have tried to get it replaced under warranty, I just went to Amazon as we had a trip planned...

Don't know, but since you're under warranty, why not take it to the dealership and let them fix it for free? If you're now on the road and phone Airstream Central, they should authorize a regular RV service center to repair it for you.

Same leak

We have the same exact leak in our 2014 FC.
Since we need to bring the unit in to the dealer for two recall notices, we are also asking them to fix the leak while the trailer is still under warranty.

Why would you say this? It makes sense to me and since you paid a nice sum for a new trailer, they should cover all of these issues. And, many of us don't have wives that are that handy.

We did have good luck with that, thanks. We recently took our new Flying Cloud for a 6 week maiden voyage, during which time several this 'n' that things went wrong/broke. (Like the lock on the exterior storage compartment and one of the claw hooks on the awning.) Our last overnight stop was our dealership (Airstream of Spokane) who fixed everything promptly without charge.

I tried this and got the run around from Airstream. To get service from other than an authorized dealer seems to be a problem for them, meaning they don't want to do it. This was my experience.

I was told there is a new person in charge of this at Airstream.
