Toilet Flange Thread in '71 Ambassador

Before I get going on doing some work on the bathroom, I want to have everything I need in advance... Does anyone know what type of flange I need for the toilet? Will it be male or female threaded? Do I need to get it from an RV store, or will a hardware store have one?

Thanks

Donald

What brand and model toilet do you have. By flange are you talking about the flange seal.

I'm pretty sure you will need a toilet flange with 3" male threads. It will likely screw into the black tank.

You'll need to get it at an RV store I would think. They use a rubber seal not a wax ring so the flange has a nice groove for the seal.

You might want to pick up a new seal while your at it unless your putting in a new toilet which comes with one.

I figured since I was going to pull the toilet off I might as well replace the flange and gasket. I replaced the toilet four years ago, and remember the flange was looking pretty old.

I just wanted to make sure I had the right one to replace it with. I'll definitely use the foam gasket.

Thanks

Having solid plywood to tie mechanical anchor into was flaw in my 27', without wrecks or other factors considered I'm sure it helped crack the BW tank around the nylon weld allowing it to flex...

For the screw on's you only have a male thread or female. They only cost about $4 each. Buy both to be sure!

I recently installed a Sealand on my '72. The instructions had me install a universal flange kit. If we are talking about the same thing...
