Stainless steel shower?

I was wondering if anyone had tried to make or have made a stainless steel shower pan/enclosure. I know someone who is an expert at stainless fabrication, I know he can make it if I give him the right measurements. Anyone tried it? I have the side bath Sovereign with twin bunks in back.

David Winnick uses them, so it is possible and looks sleek. gl

Oh my!

Sounds good, but what about the additional weight?

You are using a thin panel, but I do not think it would weigh much. ck out trailer photos on vintage trailering

I don't think the weight will be all that much using light gauge metal. The expense will be the biggest hurdle, I think.

the cost would be the big thing, I don't think the weight would be that much; you'd want to go with 18ga- its what we use for kitchen sinks, and not so likely do dent. I'm envious, I love custom fabricated stainless anything!

cheers,

That's very much what I was thinking about, except making it a welded unit.

yes, the custom sink work is welded and ground down so that it looks seamless- is that your plan too?. I think it would be an awesome addition to your rig, please post pics and details.

Yes, that would be my plan. It will not happen this month, other priorities first. It is my brother-in-law that does the stainless work. I've seen him make welds in stainless virtually invisible.

Stephenh2: Did you go through with this design? How did it turn out? I'm looking into all an stainless steel alternative to a current TW rear wet bath. I'm thinking all stainless steel wet bath instead.

My3,

I have not tried this yet, but still hope to. I'm living full time in it and am too far from home and the resources available there. I think it would work just fine. Keep us posted if you try it.

I might take you up on that offer ! I've been talking to an AS owner in Rangeley, ME about purchasing his 73 Safari. He may bring it back down to Portland for easier access. Both are not far from Epsom and its a haul from Northern VA .
