Slow leak on toilet flush pedal

I have found a very slow leak coming from the flush lever on my toilet. It is so slow that it's hard to even tell where it is coming from, but perhaps from the plastic end cap on the side. Is it possible that the cap is just a little bit loose, or mildly a bigger problem? The leak is so slow that on a full 24 hour period, if I put a cup under the leak and catch it all, it has less than 1 ounce of water in it. I am also certain it is fresh water, not black water that is leaking.

Should this be an easy fix or am I going to have to pull the throne off the floor to fix it?

If it is the original toilet, it is 35 years old now. Leaks happen. I would not be surprised if it is the anti syphon system, which on the old Thetford toilets causes what appears to be a leak, but in fact it is a bad interior valve part with water coming out the overflow vent.

It is very difficult to repair the thing in place. I would take it out first, and maybe when you see what fun that is, you will say, hells bells, lets just get a new one!

I had a leak in the same place in my '89 MH. My problem was caused by too much water pressure. I lost my pressure regulator while packing to go home on the previous trip. The pressure at the campground of next trip was too high for the plastic parts. Now I carry a spare that goes on the hose.

It isn't the original toilet, and I'm guessing it's less than 10 years old, but I'm not sure. Where is the relief vent placed on the flush mechanism?
