Shower water temperature fluctuations

While dry camping, our shower water temperature fluctuates with the water pump cycles. When the pump is running, the temperature stays as you set it but when the pump pauses it only pumps cold water. When the pump comes back on, the water temp returns to what you have set. We added an accumulator tank which helped a little but did not eliminate the problem. I've thought about replacing the cartridge in the control but can't see how that would cause this problem. Has anyone had this problem and, if so, how did you solve it? We have a '99 Safari.

My guess would be a restriction in your hot water system somewhere. Set your shower to all hot and turn on the pump. Pump into a bucket and see how much water you get in some time, say 30 seconds. Then do the same with all cold. If they are not close there is a restriction somewhere. When the pump goes off, pressure drops and the flow in the restricted line drops faster than the unrestricted.

The blend valve is a good suspect. Before i bought a new one i would take it apart and see if the hot orifice is blocked.

Like i said, just a guess.
