Shower vinyl wall covering replacement.

Need advise on replacing the vinyl wall covering on my 1991 34' Excella 1000. The edge of the vinyl was loose and would have allowed water to leak behined into the plywood so I removed it on two of the walls. What should it be replaced with and where can I buy it? Is there any special prep needed for the remaining adhesive on the plywood and what adhesive would be used to install the new wall covering? The existing wall covering is quite thick to be regular vinyl wall paper.
