Shower sealant

I have a spot where just under the rollout screen there is no sealer there.I am wondering what type of sealer is used to do this.Water is running into the bathroom when I would take a shower because of this not being sealed. Thanks

When we picked up our Bambi at the dealership we noticed there were a few spots just as you describe. I believe the technicians were using some type of white silicone caulking. Later on, when they had to remove the shower assembly to repair the cold water supply, they used the same stuff and it looks very nice and is doing the job.

Shub sez go for it

Similar problem my 2005 25' Safari. I've been reluctant to caulk these spots, but after reviewing Shub's website (www.newlinebathroom.com) I've become emboldened.

Here is an exerpt from their FAQ:

· Why does the screen leak when the shower is used?

Water can not run to the outside of the screen unless there is a gap in the caulking. Check where the leak is coming from and re-caulk the area. There may be leakage around the perimeter of the screen where the canister and wall jamb are attached to the wall. Caulk the entire perimeter of the screen.

Their installation video recommends a silicone caulk.

Devo, one thing I have noticed with our shower is that the wall where the showerhead is mounted and the rolling door is mounted is not calkued, and there is a gap. On top of that, the wall material there is particle board with a formica cover. I haven't bothered to caulk it since any amount of water will simply rot away the particle board. Who designed this?

Just make sure that you keep all water away from that wall. Make sure the pull out door in fully on the inside of the lip, but I still wouldn't spray directly on the door. Just sit on the the stool, aim the shower head towards the back and enjoy a hot shower!

Devo,

The door manufacturer recommended silicone, so that is what I used. Haven't had it out for a trip yet so don't know how well it holds, or whether it stopped the leaks. Good luck.
