Shower Replaced

I ended up replacing the shower door in my old 28’ Intl Signature because the door dropped into the bottom frame requiring me to lift it up in order to get the door open. I replaced it with a Sterling pivot shower.

Not unsurprisingly, the shower door also dropped in my ’15 Classic at the beginning of the season. Exactly the same issue as the Intl. Some folks live with this by work-arounds (inserting plastic spacer at bottom of shower door). I decided to try something different.

Here are a couple of shots of my new Stoess cassette shower door. It was made to fit my shower, and it does. Perfectly. After removing the old shower door framing (not for the timid), it took less than 25 minutes to install the new one.

It has a self cleaning squeegee on the back side, and it weighs about 10 pounds. Also, no glass. Around $230.

I assume you are talking about a "shower door" being replaced?

Shower door

Hello BAB,

Like the idea of the retracting shower door. Looks great and takes up less room also. So where can I find this product ? did a quick search and did not find it.

Thanks

I’ve been fighting my damned shower door from day one!

Could you detail removal of the existing door? The hinge side is attached with a nasty sealant in my trailer.

Did you ever remove the door? The glass fell out of my door, looking for info regarding the removal.

I've already have experience removing my shower door back in 2013 after we purchased our 2008 Classic 25fb. Do you use the inside plastic flashing in your installation? Can you post a photo showing from the inside of the shower?

I'd love to be able to get rid of the door when using the shower. I suspect all Airstream shower stalls are the same dimension for later models with the hallway show.

When you open the door with water on it does it squeege off the water without it getting into the cassette?

Any notice changes in entrance width?

Is there a part number you can share? Did you purchase directly from the manufacturer?

Thanks

Kelvin
