shower head from ceiling?

I am trying to configure my new shower and since I am 6ft 3in I need as much space as I can get. I am thinking that it should be possible to run the water line (Pex) behind the interior skin (where the wiring and insulation are). im thinking I can have the shower head coming straight from the ceiling and pointing down. Has anyone ever done this or seen it done? Maybe its not possible but it was a thought I had and was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction if it is possible.
Thank you

I like the idea but I think there are considerations. If you will always be connected both to fresh water and a sewer, the amount of water used is not so much an issue. (as long as you have ample hot water)

If water usage is a concern (fresh and grey), I would stick with a wand type shower head. You can direct the water in the amount you want where needed. I would think a shower head from the ceiling would take much more water to get the same job done.

Just my opinion.

While on the surface this may appear to be a good idea, I think such an installation would be problematic in the future. The main thing would be maintenance. What happens if and when you have a leak on that water line? You have to take your bathroom apart and pull out the wall just to get at the PEX line. Yikes!!!
