I am curious to know what others use to clean the drain in the shower?

Get an old rubber bath tub stopper and drill a 3/8 or so hole through it. Put it in the drain and push a garden hose to it while the hose is turned on.

That is an old shore trick for the sand you track into the shower.

The drain is just a trap so it should not hold anything link hair the way a sink drain does.

I take a metal coat hanger, straighten it out, then bend a very small hook on one end. Fish it down the drain to the trap, twirl it and pull it out. Repeat. Nasty job, but you can pull most of the hair out this way. Works at home, too.
