Replace bathroom faucet

Hi, I don't like the two handle bathroom faucet that came on our '04 Safari. It's easy to find a nice SS single handle faucet at home supply places, but I'm not certain how to plumb it. The current faucet has supply lines (red and white plastic running exactly to the very short pipe threads coming out of the existing faucet) will need to be shortened, and then attached to the new faucet via a looped supply hose. Never worked withe Airstream fresh water lines. Can someone point me to info on how to cut, splice, etc. these lines?

Thanks,

Don

OK, I'll answer my own question. Maybe it will save some time for someone else.

I bought, at Lowes, "Slip" connectors for the Pex piping. Just cut the supply lines to the right length, and reconnected with the connectors. $6 solution.

Glad you figured it out. We've replaced both faucets in our Airstream. Took about an hour in total.

Hi, I just read this post. If you click on my "Blog Entries: 51 " you will find how I changed my bathroom faucet on my 2005 Safari. Pictures and explanations included.

We had the same issues. We went to Lowes and found a bathroom faucet that had a longer reach than the stock one from Airstream (I believe it has a 5 inch reach vs. about 3 inches for the original one.) Replacement is a lot easier if you first remove the sink (it's easy to do this as there are three or four little clips that need to be released first.) The entire installation took less than 30 minutes. On our 2014 Airstream, the fittings were totally compatible with the residential fixture we got from Lowes and we did not need to fuss with any adapters. If you've ever replaced a faucet at home you can do this.
