P-Trap Maintenance in Hot Weather

What is the best way to make sure that the P-trap does not dry out when stored in hot weather? We have heard put a cup or two of mineral oil down the sink and shower drains.

Quiet right. Also, don't forget to plug your shower drain.

When travelling keep your bath vent closed. It can create a vacuum pulling odors from the tank to the bath.

AS definitely told us to keep the plugs in! Any suggestions on the mineral oil or other liquid that will not evaporate if in storage?

I just keep water in them during the summer and antifreeze in the winter.

What difference does it make if the water evaporates out of a P trap unless you are hooked up to a sewer system? In 35 years of camping it hasn't been a problem for us.

Smells from the gray tank can come through if the water goes away. Trust me!

Pour in some RV anti freeze

That was what I was thinking would be easiest and compatible with the system.

Mineral oil is another option since it does not evaporate like water and antifreeze.
