It's a standard thing on my 2005 Safari FB SE. I've used it twice in two years - once when a neighbor's kid got skunked, and once when I locked myself out in 90 degree weather. It's another thing to check when you winterize.
A friend suggested it was also useful when cleaning up after dumping.... now D'oh why didn't I think of that?

Yes I installed one. I have two lines a fresh water line which brings water into the trailer and a line going out which is hooked to my main hot and cold lines. I can get access to both by opening the door behind the sink. I just turn on the hot valves and cold valves I installed back there and pre-set the temp. I use the spicket I mounted by my water going in to hook up my hand held shower. I find the outside shower easier to use. I just don't have enough room in the airstream shower. The last time I was in the bathtub I bent over and busted my head on the sink counter top. I have only camped at my property and there is nobody around for miles so I don't have to worry about being seen. I love the outside shower. It is getting back to nature and I love it.
I also have a 25' FB SE with an outside shower. I wish Airstream would have installed shutoff valves within the warm shell so that I could isolate the blown-out shower for late season cold camping. If I run interior water and heat in the cold, I'm afraid I'd freeze up the shower. That hasn't been a factor yet but it will be. The piping for my outside shower is tucked behind the shower enclosure, furthest from any possible access...
Oasis RV said they could install one in our 19' Bambi if we wanted...the closer to an inside water supply the better...for us, that means street side, which is not the most convenient place for it...and also on the same side as the hookups, etc... On the other hand if it were on the other side, it'd be under the awning and that would be messy. I think they'd be good for giving the dogs baths when they get grimy from camping. We haven't had one put in, though...

We bought one of those tent sun shower rooms... It works great and can be set up anywhere... When the suns not out just boil water to put in it.
Just one option. I just don't think I would use the outside shower enough to justify the cost of putting it in...
I just carry one of those cheap 'Y' adapters for the hose and keep a 30' garden hose and sprayer connected to it. The sun heats it up enough for a quick rinse off. Boodocking, naturally, puts a damper on this practice, but I haven't found I needed it enough to warrant fooling with plumbing.

Strikes me as a good idea, especially when boondocking ... saves gray tank room. I called the factory to inquire, and they were not enthusiastic about a retrofit. They also pointed out the plumbing-in-unheated-space issue, which gave me some pause.
