Rich, I've looked at all possibilities, particularly marine suppliers, but nothing. If I find something, it'll be posted. In the meantime, I took mine off and sprayed it silver. Looks better, but still looks like what it is. Cheap plastic!

Yay! It's now available online https://store.airstream.com/product_...roducts_id=805

Which I assume means that every dealer (inland andy, Andrew T, etc) can get this for you too! With two toddlers, this might go on my winter project list along with a gray tank addition. PS, arktos, we're going to hold you to it for a project recap and pictures.

I think it would work well to mount under the sink (curbside on mine) so that it can be near the door, but still accessable when the door is open. Plus plumbing is right there to get hot and cold water.

Crap! Not so fast; they're on backorder --- already, and @ $245.00. Oh well, camping season's almost over anyway.

Mine is installed and what a major improvement. The SS door is flat, doesn't bow on either side, fits just like it should. Worth every penny.

Just checked the Airstream Store and these are back in stock at the same price as previously. Still no sign of the promised SS Fresh Water Fill cover.

I did it! Got brave and cut my first hole in the AS! Installed my new AS SS outdoor shower! WooHoo!

Not entirely pleased with the $$$ product:

1) Attachment points should be every 2 inches, rather than 4. Otherwise the skin buckles. I added the additional points and it fits much better.

2) Corners tend to curl outward, leaving gaps. Improved somewhat with screws at corners...but not entirely.

3) Hose connection is very difficult to reach if it needs to be replaced at some point. Very hard to get fingers around it...and smooth chrome surface hard to grip.

4) Door seal is a little too aggressive. Puts strain on closure mechanism.

5) What is up with the 'lock'?? Am I supposed to carry a screw driver or a quarter with me every time I want to open the enclosure?

Overall, I am happy tho. It's a hot item and I love the look. Will post pics later on my thread.

Peace Fellow Streamers!

You should be able to replace the "lock" with a true keyed lock. It looks like the lock off the original door won't quite fit in the SS door (not long enough) but you could re-use the cylinder to keep the same key as the water fill door.

I figured I really didn't care if someone stole water from my shower and grabbing a quarter or screwdriver was just as much of a pain as the key, so I left it alone.
