I didn't realize how much indepth knowledge there is in here about this subject.
To Sh*t or not to Sh*t? That was the question. Now I know my answer! It's gotta go! I didn't tell you the whole story though, so I must explain my point of view for getting rid of my royal throne. You see, I am 6'5" and there is no way in h*ll I'm fitting in that shower. Not even on my knees would I fit. And for the sh*tter? I weigh 225lbs and I'm not quite sure how many Pounds per Square Inch my little 46 year old plastic sh*tter could withstand. That could be dangerous! And the sink is only big enough for one of my hands. So it just makes sense for us to kabosh the kan in the can. You see, tall people don't have all of the advantages.

Exclamation No Sh**tter for us

So I am the other half of the Sparks Overlander. I think you need to know a few things about us before you think we are crazy.
First we are very tall and don't fit in the shower, this is why we will never us the shower in the trailer we can't stand up in it.
Second, we have camped a lot we don't camp at campgrounds so being able to dump will not be easy for us. We have squatted over many a bushes, not a problem.
Third The beds are not long enough for us to sleep on, so we were thinking a bed the length of the back of the trailer.... we could fix!!
Also it is just us and a very larger dog.
So with this in mind what do you think now?????

ahhh. well, then, what you need to do is see our very own "Inland Andy", and have you're trailer "stretched". (not kidding; he's done it, as have others, I think).

as a matter of fact, they're having a contest for a complete "makeover". maybe you should enter? I can just imagine the essay possibilites with this one...."...we need the makeover because we're too tall to poop in our trailer".

Well well well - we really enjoy both participate in these disussions - you will find you have others who each have there own log in - so welcome! We hope to hear from both of you alot.

I can relate as I'm 6'2" myself - the showers are a bit small for me (thats why I own bathe 2x per year ) We grew up in the tent/popup world so I understand where you are coming from - we use campground facilities for the most part too.

Sooooo make the trailer comfortable for you and enjoy!

Ken

i did have a black tank problem with an old winniebago....the tube got clogged so i put one of those hose thingy's down the s**tter it expandes and is supposed to break the clogg.................nopeeeeeeeeee i let off on the hose pressure and it blew poop all over me all over the bathroom and all over the floor.............what the tall guy could do is put a domed skylight over the shower? and the toilet should hold you,if not they are less than $250 for a real nice one. now your only problem is the length of the bed, that could be a problem.

Move the two closets back to where the bathroom was, and extend the beds.

I use one of these clear adapters on the sewer hose. Helps make sure the tank is clean and I can see that everyone is eating right

FYI

I just settled in at an RV park in Alpine, TX. They don't let long-timers used the parks facilities. Don't know if this is the only place with this policy or not, but forewarned is ... I forget what!

I say getting rid of the bathroom is a bad idea; no matter how bad things get, a guy needs to be able to use his head

State Park Campground Bathrooms in Georgia Closed

I do not know if this is all the State Parks in Georgia, but the one we just stayed at this past weekend closed their restrooms on Sunday afternoon until Thursday afternoon. We were told it was to conserve electricity during these hard economic times and buget cuts.We had our '68 Avion out for the firt time to test all the systems. Of course our luck was the toilet didn't work! We had to ask the campground patrol if he could keep the restroom open for us because we had reservations Sat.,Sun., and Monday. If this rule is being inforced at all the State Parks, be warned ahead of time to go prepared with a Port-A-Potty.
