No hot water going to the shower!

After using our camper extensively for four years, we just found out this past summer that there is no hot water going to the shower. (For those who are ??? This...we use campground showers or the outside unit). There is hot water in all other areas of the rig. We took the shower apart and can see the the hoses are connected to the lines in the shower. Sure wish we had noticed this when the camper was still under warranty! Any ideas? We suspect a kinked line, but short of removing riveted panels.....

I have had that problem on a few of my prior trailers. Every time it has been a white scale corrosion residue from the water heater.

Try removing the shower head from the hose then turn on the hot water. Hopefully that will let it blow through. Don't forget to clean the screened washer at the base of the shower head (if it has one) If there is no screen, the shower head may be stopped up too.

Cold water does come through the shower and hot water is abundant at all other faucets.

It could be a problem with the cartridge in the shower handle. Pull that and have a look, or you might want to just replace it.

We have had that problem with all three of the Airstreams we have had. It has always been the cartridge in the shower handle. Replacing it solved the problem.

We just replaced our cartridge because the water was stuck on hot. If you have a Moen shower, call them and they will send you a complimentary replacement. They told me there is no way of fixing these cartridges when they go bad. They also emailed me a pdf file that demonstrated how to remove and replace the cartridge. We had to remove the surround plate and hold on to the plastic backing plate on the outside of the shower to remove the retaining clip. We had access to this plate from under our sink in our Classic. We purchased a cartridge puller at Home Depot because the old one was stuck. If you have any other questions, PM us and we will try to provide more detail.

We had the exact same problem a while back. The openings in the valve must be fairly small.

I drained the system, flushed the water heater, and then with compressed air, back flushed the shower system, as well as cleaned all of the little aireator/filters in all of the faucets.

It was amazing how much crud gets caught up in those things, and I never fill the water tank, or hook up to park water without using one of those blue charcoal in-line water filters.

My husband has pulled the cartridge and it will be replaced. We will not be able the see if this is the cure until next spring when we can recharge the systems. Thanks for the help!

The typical water filter does not prevent lime and calcium minerals from entering the coach.
You will get these mineral deposits, some can be severe, depending on the area you are in.

This is why I have gone to using a softener on the AS. Also mineral cleanup on the dark bronze fixtures is a real chore.
