Need new shower/tub fixture

The 1966 Safari has a stout little shower/tub fixture that has seen better days. Any idea on where we can find a quality replacement?

Those are pretty customized…your best bet for a "new" one would be a donor trailer.

If yours is just discolored or only has minor cracks, it could be repaired & refinished. There are several folks here on the forums that have had great success in rehabbing theirs.

Do they work for the same spot?

I might be missing something but this faucet is unlike any other one you will find at any store I've been to. I am not certain a regular tub faucet meant for a house would work in the Airstream. Am I mistaken?

Can you post a picture? Many people have used household tub fillers, how is yours different?

I replaced my tub/shower faucet with one I got from VTS. It is solid brass. I just checked their web site and don't see it. I will check further and let you know where I got it.

If you look at post #58 of my thread Dan's '66 Tradewind Improvements you will see both a photo of the old tub/shower faucet and the new faucet.

The brand Phoenix sticks in my peabrain. I ordered it from an RV dealer. It comes either with a tub diverter (4712D, chrome) or just the shower (412V, chrome). I used just the shower model. The price was $40.29 and it is even Made in America!

FWIW, the two handle shower valve works just fine. We keep the shower valves open all the time, at the correct temperature for us, and then turn the water off/on at a positive shutoff ball valve at the shower head.

Do a search for claw foot tub tub faucets, I found nice quality faucets for about $ 80. These were all metal not plastic like the Phoenix brand!

The shower unit on my 68 was in petty sad shape. The older fixtures were made to last. New O ring and seal and it was good a new mechanically. A little time with a Dremel and a felt bob with some Flitz and it looked good again. I think I spent less than a dollar for parts.

Picture of faucet

This is the faucet (from the better side) and I think I found a replacement thanks to the great help from the Forum people! Thank you all for steering me in the right direction.

That is the first place I looked too but they didn't have one. Thanks for the reply though!

I had checked all the logical places before I posted the question. Local places had no idea when I explained what I needed. Took the advice of a forum member, you, and did a search on claw foot tubs. There it was in all of its glory!!

I ordered it and it should be here later this week. It looks exactly like the original and is all metal so I am hoping for the best. If it turns out it isn't a match, I can try again or move to try to repair the old one. It is in such poor shape finish wise I just didn't want to put it back in there unless I came up empty. Thanks for the great tip and now next time I need a tub faucet, that will be the first place I look.

I am glad that you were able to help Sandy find the right faucet.

Phoenix makes both plastic and brass body faucets. The brass body faucets are about $40. The plastic ones are about $20.
