Mystery leak

Under my 1964 Bambi 2 is a cylindrical protrusion under shower area that leaks a bit. Is there a p trap between shower and sewer connection? Hate to tear into the underside if I do not need to...

Yes, you are probably looking at a cover for the p-trap.

Sure enough. Removing the insulated cover revealed a short brass p trap with a crack in it.

You might be able to have the copper piece soldered. It would fit right back where it is.

Must have frozen at some time. Clean it up and solder like J. Morgan said would be the easiest fix.
