Moen Pure Touch Classic Kitchen Faucet

Moen Pure Touch Classic Kitchen Faucet for the 2006 Classic:
Replacement Parts where to purchase them and how to operate it.

Moen Pure Touch Classic has as its power source a (#2032) 3v lithium watch battery located in the top of the spout. It is available at Wall-Mart.
The filter also found in the spout can be ordered from home depot (Micro-Tech 600),
The Cartridge sometimes called a stem causes the faucet to leak as it ages; it is also available at Home Depot in stock. The item no is (1225).

To operate the filter: push the button with the faucet running to obtain filtered water. You will notice a decrease in water pressure when the filter is activated.
The faucet will returns to the unfiltered status each time it is turned off.
The new filter should be flushed with water for several minutes before use and again after the trailer has been in storage.

The lights are designed to inform you of the status of the filter.
During the initial startup red light blinks
After that is will remain green
Near the replacement time it will blink yellow
When it needs replacement red will appear.

Most folks replace the filter about once a year depending on use.
Do not leave the filter in place when you winterize; it will be contaminated.

I hope the information I found trying to fix my Moen Classic will help others who are having Moen Kitchen faucet problems with pre-owned classic.

I found some links to this faucet. The batteries only purpose is to be a timer to measure the use of the filter. The faucet and filter don’t know how long the filter has been in use, and the battery powers a timing circuit, and the circuit flashes a LED green, yellow, or red to show if it is good or close to suggested change out time. The timer can be reset at any time, and is not necessary for the filtered water operation.

Mohen Press release

This is a good faucet and served us well, with no leaks. I ordered a pair of new filters, and have yet to install one, as I have changed this system out.
We installed a instant hot water heater, (The one that has near boiling water for coffee, tea, washing pans, or whatever.) at the kitchen sink, and we wanted filtered water for the hot water heater. The Mohen faucet could not provide filtered water to another device, so I installed a under the counter filter, with a separate faucet for filtered drinking water, and made a big change with all faucets at the sink.

Hello to all,
I just had to replace my faucet due to the fact that I could not find replacement parts. Mine was in an 05' and according to Moen, they do not make this faucet anymore. The twist lock gasket/lock ring at the spout were you would change the filter, started to leak. could not find parts anywhere.
Good luck to those looking for parts. Im sure they are out there somewhere, I just could find them.

I just dewinterized last week and my side spray leaks. I have a 2002 Classic with almond moen fixtures. I was looking for a replacement in Menards and the sales rep said just call 1-800-BUYMOEN, give them your model number (or just have the item in front of you to describe) and they will replace it free of charge. Of course I dropped it off at a specialty kitchen joint down town so I won't be able to do anything until Monday. I'll let you all know how it goes.

I am not sure about how Moen stands behind their product for the AS Classic since I have had no troubles with mine, but I do know they are an awesome company as far as their warranty goes. I have Moen fixtures in my home and the kitchen faucet started to leak after 6 years. All it took was a call to them and they immediately shipped a replacement unit to me at no cost. From now on, I am a confirmed Moen advocate and will always use their products in the future.

My OEM kitchen faucet in my 71 has started leaking. How much $ is the Moen you are speaking of?

I believe that Moen gives a lifetime warranty on the cartridge in their faucets. I think you have to contact Moen direct to get a replacement for free. If you go to a plumbing supplier they usually want to sell you one.

No Moen dealer in my area has ever heard of these. I was then told to go to the Moen website. I did. Did not find anything called Pure Touch. Did find 2 kitchen faucets that have filters Chateau and Wickston. Called Moen and got a message saying "your wait time will be apporximately one hour and fifty minutes" Called local plumbing supply and he says he has 15 different Chateau kitchen faucets. Went back to the website and got sorry, this website is under construction".

The Amazon link above gave me a model #7034, but also "not currently available". So I am waiting for more information from Moen.

I was at the Airstream factory at Jackson Center, OH about three weeks ago. They had the Moen filters. If I recall, they were approx. $30. They're convenient, but rather expensive for something that only lasts about 6 months. Consequently, I filter the water before it gets to the tank.

Is this the same faucet thats in the 2007 Safari SE? Im trying to replace the water filter but I dont have the old one as a reference. In addition, the owner did not provide the manuals, which does not help my situation, however it does make every thing I do an experience.

If it's the same faucet as my 2008 Safari SE, the model number is #9601. I just replaced mine and found the filter at Home Depot, but it was not with all the other filters, but rather in the faucet section. I should note that here in Canada I could only find model #9501, but the Moen gal assured this will work. Don't buy the replacement battery until you get the filter because you might get a free one in the box like I did.

Here is a parts diagram for the Moen PureTouch faucet. With the proper part numbers we should have a better chance of finding parts.

It appears that Airstream was their major customer for these, as they seem to be rare. It is a nice faucet though!

Replacement cartridges

We suggest carrying spare faucet cartridges for all of your faucets, including the shower, in case of leaks. During a "pre-flight" check prior to our last trip we found a constant drip after "power up". It was the Kitchen sink cartridge. Moen is a good source if you have the time for a 'next day' shipment. The Home Depot was better in our case. The cartridges are inexpensive, light weight and don't take up much storage room.

Moen PureTouch Classic MicroTech 600 Filter cartridge replacement

Unfortunately, this item can not be ordered from Home Depot. The original post I noticed was 9 years ago. Seems as though only places like efaucet.com and faucetsdirect.com carry the replacement cartridge, except for Moen, of course. The cheapest replacement I found was at efaucet.com.

We would like to replace our galley faucet with a new one. Any new Classic owners out there that could shed some light on this? Thanks!
