McGiver shower

I am thinking about putting an end on my fresh water
drain so I can hookup a hose to use outside. Maybe beef up
the drain with pex. Maybe have separate hot and cold drains so I could take a shower.Can anyone tell me why that is a stupid
idea? ( not a trick question )

Not at all a stupid idea. I would strongly encourage you to install a backflow preventer in the line (or lines) feeding the hose bib.

Hey Mark,
Just the kind of input I was looking for. I am not too
afraid of what would back up into the system form a 4 foot
shower hose . should I be ?

Any time you put on a hose bib, or even shower type faucet, there is no telling what somebody might want to attach. I'd be strongly tempted to connect a wand for flushing the waste water tanks, just for an example.

Smart thinkin Mark...I will take your advice on the backflow
preventer. . I really do like the idea of using the drains as an outdoor faucet. Ya know,... the whole dual purpose thing.
