Land Yacht turning into a water Yacht
Ok, I'm totally new at the Airstream thing, although it's long been a dream of mine. Now that my girlfriend and I have bought (3 days ago) our dream trailer which we are traveling in for the next year, we've discovered problems cropping up. Namely, that the bathroom is having a few water issues. I might add I'm not too familiar with the parts terminology and don't have a manual.
Problem 1)
The floor is soaking wet and smells like someone wet the bed...
A friendly employee at the parts dealer said it might be the valve in the back of the Thetford Galaxy toilet, and I bought a new one to try to install. Only thing is, I don't even know how to pop out the toliet to get at the valve.
Problem 2)
The shower won't drain. But it did 2 days ago.
This may be an issue of clogging, because I only sprayed the water slightly to make sure it worked, and when we ran it for a minute to flush out I didn't notice anything.
My fear is that these two problems are related.... any help would be tremendously appreciated!

Yup, for the first time yesterday. I also discovered that the valve on the black water tank had conveniently been left open...

I only notice one valve in the back compartment by the bumper of the trailer. When I first saw this and noticed it was pulled up, I closed it. When I dumped later, the gray water could be heard gushing down the tube, and uh, due to the prior opening I noticed that black water was also mixing in there. Now that valve is closed, but if there is a seperate gray water valve somewhere...

Is there a way to double check? The elderly gentleman who sold it to me I could swear muttered something about a gray tank, but it doesn't seem to have a seperate draining compartment.

I have an Overlander 1972 and no gray tank so I don't think you'll have one.
For the toilet you'll find on the seat a small plastic plug that you have to remove and then somewhere far down you'll find a bolt. I have to say that without the manual it is not easy. I know because I have to fix something too on mine and with the manual it sounds hard to do.
You might find a way out here to find one manual for you. Some AS dealer carries old manual. I know in Can you can find them at CanAm RV but for sure in US too.
About the shower if not come from the tank wether it is clog somewhere or it could also be a vent issue.

No gray tanks in 1972 unless an owner retrofitted them. IIRC they became an option in 1974 and were installed in all units starting in 1975. But they were minuscule. The one in my 75 is a whopping 10 gallons  good thing there are lots of thirsty raccoons where I camp
