Kitchen Sprayer Leaking

Hi All,

The sprayer on my 2008 Bambi drips/drizzles water from the base of the sprayer. I took it apart and the O rings look good. There is a white plastic part that attaches to the hose but it doesn't look like anything I can tighten. Thoughts on what else to check?

Thanks!

Lynn

That appears to be a common problem as many others have noticed it too. If the leak isnít stopped it will in time cause the floor to buckle and eventually rot the plywood floor. Not good.

The first year I called the OEM (Delta, I think) and they sent me a new on for free. But since it is difficult to get to the hose, I replaced jut the sprayer part. Worked well for a couple years and now it is leaking again. I might cut hose and seal it up.

I could replace the whole faucet assembly with a better quality unit, but that looks difficult working in such very tight space. Might be easier to pull the sink first to access the fittings. Do we even need the sprayer? Good Luck.

Thanks for the info. I suspected as much since it's all plastic.

I will probably just replace the entire faucet with a pull out handle. Then all I'll have to do is figure out what to put in the hole in the countertops!

I have a Mohen single handle sprayer from our Bambi if you want it. I could bring it to the rally.

Thanks for the offer to bring your extra sprayer!

I'm going to replace the faucet, but not until we get back from the rally. I didn't want to get into a plumbing project and not be able to finish it before we needed to leave. The bonus will be that I'll get to see everyone else's faucets and get the pros and cons of each style!

I replaced the Moen with a more stylish one from IKEA. No sprayer but it has a pull out handle.

Our sprayer leaked this spring and I tried to repair it. Didn't work, replaced it with the same original product purchased at Lowes; no leaks. I suspect it had some water in it that the PO didn't remove when he winterized. Pretty easy fix. It takes about 3 minutes to replace.

Ours cracked one winter because I forgot to run antifreeze through it. It is very cheap plastic and a hairline crack can be hard to see. It got replaced under warranty, but if it happens again, I may replace the whole faucet if I can figure out how to deal with the filter system. Ours has a third valve that dispenses filtered cold water part way up the spigot. Maybe it would be easier to replace the sprayer with a good quality metal one.
