Kitchen Sink replacement

Hell All-
We want to replace the stainless double sink in our '04 Safari with a "same size" single sink. From a quick look under the counter, it looks like an easy removal (six wing nuts clamping the existing sink to the counter). And re-plumbing the double drains with one single is certainly within my capabilities.

Anyone know where I can get a stainless sink that will "drop in"? Thanks in advance for all suggestions.

Best,
Don

I would first take out the old sink and make a template of the sink opening in the counter top, or just take the old sink with you. Take it to the big box home improvement stores and start shopping. Don't forget to check the depth of the factory sink because of the drain lines or shelving under the sink.

Sorry, forgot to add dimensions. It's 16x 27 to outside lips of sink.

I doubt that you will find any sink at a big box store. They are usually residential sinks, much large and have the faucet on the back deck of the sink itself.

I believe you will have to be looking at RV supply places for a suitable sink. Another thing to consider is to replace your existing countertop if you find a sink which is close but will not exactly fit into your opening.

If you have an Ikea store or go on line to Ikea, they have some interesting sinks, and some are smaller and don't have the faucet deck.

Maybe I should have added that we had to replace all the counter tops in our 87 when we got it. My wife really liked having corrian counters so we managed to have them made with molded in sinks for both kitchen and bath. I could try to post some pictures later today if you would like. Right now it is time to head to church services.

Pictures would be great. I will remove the sink later today, and see what the situation is. We've considered corian or something like that. A local trailer restoration fellow want $2K to do that, so I'm looking at "do it yourself" options.
