kitchen sink p trap

Our '91 excella has a crack in the plumbing as the p trap exits and goes horizontal to the wall drain. I was in Home Depot and the person said that the 1 1/2 inch "black" PVC in these coaches may not be the same as the "White" PVC that is sold in the stores so adhesion may not take place during the repair.

Any advice? or experience?

Use black ABS pipe fittings. Or get one of the slide over (rubber) couplings if there is room for it.

...you can get the black ABS fittings at a regular plumbing supply store. Sounds like the Home Depot associate gave you some good advice!

Do what I did, LEFT Home Depot, and went to a local plumbing place. Walked in with what I needed to replace, handed it to the fellow behind the counter and within 5 minutes was paying for my new parts. Yes, they are white, but with the slide-over rubber coupling, no problems at all!
Yes, there are times that it's best to shop local!
