We have not had a problem stubbing our toes. Of course of it's new to your routine it will take awhile to get used to the change. For us it's natural now. We'd miss it if it was gone!

My solution. Folds up neatly and stores out of the way between the seat and wall.

My toilet layout is like that in my 25' Safari, rear corner bath and rear corner bed. Inside that box, above the plywood floor, is the sewer black tank. On my trailer there are also fresh water lines between the sink and shower above the tank inside the box.

I'm tall, so my toes stick out under the door into the bedroom when I'm on the toilet. DW is short, her toes dangle.
