Just fyi,

petroleum jelly works great as lubricant and thread sealant for plastic connections, especially for those with orings and such.

Teflon tape is a thread lubricant, but not sealant. Good to help threads engage fully, not seal threads or compression fittings.

Gorilla torque on plastic is sure to cause more problems, either sooner or later.

Those factory connectors have a wee silicon gasket in the middle which can be buggered up if not set correctly. And none of the big box stores sell the same fittings to replace it.

I liked the cut out and replace solution.

would you happen to know the size?

thanks for your help.
I use this filter, but I lost one of the rubber seals from the inside of the fitting and can't find a replacement. Does anyone know where to get them? Or a replacement fitting?

I was missing all my seals at the shower mixing valve, I picked up some new elbow fittings from the local hardware store and pulled the rubber seals out and put them in my existing fittings.

That's my plan- but I can't find the fittings.

When I couldn't find the fitting at my local hardware store- which usually has everything I need- I broke down and went to Home Depot where I found it. I bought a bagful.
