How do you like your SMEV Sink?

How do all of you with the round SMEV sink like it? Is it big enough? Does the cover get in the way when it's raised? Would you rather have had a rectangular sink? Just deciding what kind to use in my project. Thanks for the imput!

Have you looked into the square ones? I have heard complaints about the round ones. Here's a link to a combo unit, if you decide to get one:

having had to do dishes in my bathroom sink (stick house) while the sink was being replaced, i would not want a round sink in the galley.

Hate the round one. difficult to rinse the dishes; but now using the "foaming dawn detergent" to get by. liked the arrangement with the double sink that was on the 45 angle, Not the 90 degree.
thinking of replacing the counter top and installing the smaller double.

I don't purport to be the guru of dish washing protocol, but being the water conservation ex-spurt in the AS I would much prefer the stainless double.

FWIW...due to her total lack of the concept of "limited supply", the DW leaves most the washing to yours truly.

Note..the foaming Dawn only foams because of the dispenser. Just fill it with diluted regular Dawn and save a little.

We love the round sink, very efficient. We use a container for the wash and the sink for the rinse.

On my 20' Argosy, I replaced a tiny, impossible to use sink with a nice stainless steel round one from Ikea. It was only $20! A vast improvement, big enough now to use and looks very nice in my also replaced countertop. The double bowl one in my 22' Argosy is going to be replaced in the same way. One large bowl is nicer then two which are each too small.

Life's too short to wash dishes while on a holiday. I've learned to love paper plates!

Difficult to cut a thick 1" steak on a paper plate.

I have the round Lobster sink in my Stream. Love it. More counter space.

So then you need a place to store the container. We would not have the single round sink!

Thinking of buying 2012 25' Flying cloud to replace our 2010 23' FC, but that sincle round galley sink and its difficult to store lid pose real impediments to the purchase. I'd miss the double sink a lot! Any suggestions?

I put the round lid/ cutting board under the couch cushion, while traveling.

I sold the SMEV sink I had waiting in the wings. I'm going with a rectangular ss one (I've been looking for an enamel one without any chips, but so far no luck). I can't get a double because the space is so small. I think I'd get frustrated with a round one!

Round sink works just fine. I like the size, and would rather have one big sink rather than two mediocre sizes. I'm astounded that somebody would NOT buy an Airstream based upon the kitchen sink. REALLY NOW!
