fixing a 71 kitchen sink drain

I need to fix this. It's out of my 71 kitchen sink. it looks like the top half (in the sink) of the drain has separated from bottom half (below the sink). It looks like the 2 pieces might have been originally soldered.
1.Can I fix this without taking the whole kit and kaboodle below the sink out?
2.Can I silicone the the pieces back together and silicone where the flange meets the sink surface.
3. Are new parts still available?

Any other suggestions?
Thanks,
marshall

I siliconed that part back into the stainless sink at work a couple of months ago, and it doesn't leak. I can't guarantee it won't leak in your trailer, but indications from the repair I did are good.

One thing for sure. Can't leak more than it does now

We replaced the sink drains in both sides of our stainless kitchen sink as the old ones were really corroded, it is pretty much a stock part and an easy remove and replace. It just unscrewed from the pipe below the sink and a new one was put in with plumber's adhesive in the sink. We bought our new ones at an RV supply for our 76 Argosy.
