Faucet is running when turned off

I fixed my leaky/frozen pipe problem, but now when I pressurize the system water is coming out of the kitchen faucet, even when it is completely turned off. My faucet is fairly new, I just replaced it a few years ago. It's an american standard #2475F Colony Soft Bar Faucet. I don't know much about faucets, what should I look into to fix this problem?

I think your leak problem was the result of freezing. If that is the case the faucet may also be a victim of the freeze.

If it is a newer faucet it may have a cartridge inside. remove the arm and remove the cartridge for inspection and cracks.

I took a look at your faucet on-line and noticed that it is a double handle type. It should have some type of washer unit in the handle shaft. If you still have the paperwork that came with the faucet, it may have some repair instructions and part numbers.

I am with HowiE . I think it has a cartridge in it. It has a something stuck in it or it is cracked and leaking.

Ok, I got the cartridge out, it looks ok. I'll run it by the hardware store and see if they have replacement washer/o-ring for it. Maybe that will do it.

I had to order the parts online and they finally arrived. I replaced both because I figure if one had gone the other could not be far behind - they were only $6 each. They worked perfectly. So now the trailer is leak free, I've tested all the appliances, put the towels and sheets back into the trailer, and it's ready to roll
