Question crazy question

Ok this is just a crazy question is there a pre-fab bathroom for travel trailers? We are looking for one to install in a work trailer that currently consists of zero plumming. Any ideas, direction, thoughts, or just feedback?

Hello Nabranika -- and welcome to the Forums!

Prefab? Not that I know of. Adding a water source, water pump and black tank requires a lot of planning and setting up. You aren't talking as simple as porta-potties, are you? (see http://www.westmarine.com/, click on Plumbing, click on Heads -- there are a few samples)

actually

not just a port-a-potty but something simular to what is available for buildings. Just thought a self contained one for boats, RV's, trailers would have a market out there and maybe someone of more knowledge then myself would have come up with one. Just a thought.

hey we had that one in the army

no really I remember digging the holes out in the middle of the desert and wishing we had such a nice seat. Best memory was in the middle of Ft. Stewart and the other medic in the 113 got himself chased by a wild bore at o'dark thirty trying to locate such a high tech outhouse.

modular bathroom......

sure i've seen 'em... did ya google it?

any bright contractor/craftsmant could build a bathroom module...
provide space parameters, weight limits, precised dimensions, where the water will hook up and the drains...

the plug and play....

now if you also want holding tanks....that add a layer of bulk and mass...

if i were doing this i'd opt for an incinerator toilet and a shower stall with plumbing and framing...sinks are easy will it also drain normally or does it need built in holding tank too?

sink/washing stations are now part of newer porta potty stations. shower trucks with multistall / modular showers are common place now...so i'd suspect the makers of these could sell ya i shower stall station...

lots of ways to go...

money, ideas, talented folks can do anything...sometimes...

cheers

the black holding tank in my 70 Caravel is above the floor, with the short version of the toilet on top. In the winter I've often used bottled water to flush, so it wouldn't be that big a project to add a simple tank and toilet, if you could be happy with a manual flush. It seems to me the plumbing of the dump valve would be the biggest design problem.

Then you'd start thinking and the next thing you know you'd have a fresh water tank and a sink...and a stove and a fridge and a double bed and you'll be thinking "I shoulda' gutted an Airstream and redone it as a work trailer!"

This may work

Take a look at several "Toy Box" types. They seem to have prefab, single unit toilet/washroom units.

If that won't work check with the contractors who build modular hotel rooms in Japan...strangest thing I have ever seen, but they are for short folks.
