Ah, the Thetford "Bravura": probably the most comfortable one I've found so far on my long and frustrating quest for a satisfactory RV toilet. Unfortunately, I think the Bravura is too big for the lav arrangement on the 28' FC, (although I haven't actually tried to cram one in there).......
I'm currently using a Dometic (SeaLand) "Traveler Lite", which is far from perfect, but it sure beats the Thetford "Aqua Torture Five" that came with the trailer. Here's what I've learned about this one:

Advantages:
1) porcelain bowl
2) accepts "residential" seat
3) "base" portion is black, so discoloration in that area is less noticeable
4) bowl separates from base for easier servicing (without removing base from floor)
5) bowl can be offset a few degrees either side of center (for tight situations, like mine)

Disadvantages:
1) comes with a ridiculously flimsy seat (which deserves to go out in the trash along with the packaging)
2) must lift UP on the pedal to add water to bowl (disconcerting and uncomfortable for bare feet)
3) the "100 percent" bowl coverage they brag about is a pathetic exaggeration, to say the least
4) the design of the flush ball and seals is such that without periodic cleaning the bowl will not hold water (they graciously include a special "tool" to help with that)

I bought the Dometic 310 about 3 weeks ago on line from Tweeties. They had good prices and fast delivery. Yes, the spray is to help wash the inside walls of the bowl. I paid the extra and got the sprayer. Beware, some sites include a free sprayer, but you get killed on shipping or price.
Since the temps are hovering the 100+ degree mark I'm waiting for cool weather before installing it. That will probably be sometime in Sept.
I also like the height of the 310, it's a few inches higher than the Bravera that came with my trailer.
The toilet package says it installs in minutes. They wouldn't lie would they?

In the above post I used the word "wash". I should have said, "rinse". It's too late to change it.

Advantage of the "sprayer" option: more efficient rinsing of bowl
Disadvantage: another source of potential water leaks

Toilet "poll"

I have a '69 safari that did not have a toilet when I purchased it. Can I do a quick poll on which toilet ya'll like the best? Please be specific i.e., there are 2 kinds of Sealand Travelers. Also, can anyone tell me what this gizmo is? I assume it is a toilet surround, but I can't tell what is up/down, right, left
Does anyone have this configuration?Thanks!

There are 60 minutes in an hour. There are 525600 minutes in a year. So, it WILL install in "minutes", it is only a matter of how many.

dometic 310 china toilet

I am also looking for the "right" toilet for my '87 Avion 32S.I like the Dometic China 310.Now I see they offer it in "Bone" color,It looks grey, but as usual not one supplier has a large decent picture of what it actually looks like.
I like this toilet because it is taller than my current toilet which seems very low...
I am also going for "looks" in a toilet.

What about the Thetford Aurora...that's the one I'm considering. It's China, and comes in high or low profile. Seems like a good replacement to my Starlight/Galaxy (yuk).

Can't you just use only two of the bolts? On my two-bolt toilet, the flange has four slots.

It never occurred to me that I needed to use more than just the most convenient two.

Possibly, you might have to rotate the flange to get two bolts into a good position to use them...

The new 310 china has 2 bolts at 3 and 9 o'clock. This flange cannot accept two bolts at 3 and 9.There is an adapter kit offered by sealand.I think its what I need,But I want to be sure before I order it.

I see.

From your photo, it looks as though the four existing bolts are all exactly opposing. If you rotated the flange an eight of a turn tighter (or looser), one pair would be at 3 and 9 on the clock, wouldn't they?

Or what simple thing am I not getting here?

Thanks Aage! That may be a great idea. This flange is original to my coach,a 1987 Avion 32S.The bolts look somewhat rusty, but I assume they are only going thru wood,so they should loosen up and cooperate.Or is it easier/safer to use the sealand adapter kit.....

Hi,
I replaced an old plastic toilet with a great china bowl model. To save alot of time, measure out your width, length and heighth specs. Call Steve at Vintage Trailer supply. Be sure of your size, he did a GREAT job for me, finding the right model that did fit my Globetrotter. What a difference that made to the quality of the bathroom.

Well, I don't know anything about an adapter kit, but I know that I wouldn't want to add any height to the assembly.

And, those bolts? They shouldn't be going through any wood; they should be only going through the plastic (or iron, can't tell from here) of the flange, and that's it.

Take the flange out, if you have trouble getting the other (unneeded) bolts out. Again, I can't tell if the bolts are on elongated slots, or just in tight holes. If they are on elongated slots, you don't need to do much to pull them out. A wiggle or two should do it.

Anyways, the flange just unscrews. Maybe it's stuck a bit, if it's never been out, but there should be nothing holding it in there beyond the threads into the tank. Shouldn't be any screws or bolts holding down the flange. Tap or two with a hammer and a screwdriver should get it started. Not too hard, now...

Toilet

Back to this problem.I am ready to install my new toilet Dometic china 310 which is a 2 bolt,My original flange that is bolted to the floor will not accept 2 bolts at 3 and 9.I have been advised that I cannot use a 2 bolt toilet with an adapter because it will leak. Now I have a brand new toilet I guess I cannot use or return.
