Bathroom sink removal

Hi all. Sorry if this is a stupid question but I have never done this before so I wanted to ask on here to be sure. I have a 1976 Argosy Moho and I am trying to fix my leaky bathroom sink. The valve is a screw that screws up to allow the water to turn on and in to turn it off. Well it is leaking out of the hot water valve a little when the water is off and a decent amount when the hot water is on. Is there a simple o-ring that I can replace or are these special units?

Also how do I take it apart? I didnt see a good way from the top and I have limited space from the bottom. Is there an easy way to get the faucet out from the counter instead of cutting the lines?

I can try to get some pictures if that would help.

Hi

There is a special wrench for reaching up and disconnecting the two lines. You could go thru a wild goose chase to find parts for an ancient faucet only to find a hairline crack in the unit. I get wanting to keep things original but sometimes new is better. Be wary of HD look nice but poorly made faucets.

Thanks for the info. I will be working on it tomorrow so hopefully I get somewhere with it. I didnt want to replace it but I guess I will have to. I also need to fix my kitchen faucet as it has a leak.
