Bathroom Faucet input

I have a customer who has a mid 70's unit that does not have a mixer fauset in the tub/shower. He is taking the copper out and is going back with quest. His unit does not have a mixer faucet at all. I took a picture of a unit here on the lot that has exactly what he has in his unit. I sent that to Moen and they said, and I quote,

"After reviewing , we have determined the fixture is not a Moen product."

My guess is, the tech support person for Moen was not even around when this trailer was made.

I looked on Moen's website and saw a bunch of parts that could be pieced together to make it work but it would be hard and pricy.

My question to the "think tank" is, has anyone had this same problem that came up with a solution? He has been to Lowes many times and has not come up anything that would work.

Dan, what does he have now, and what would he like to end up with? Ours looks exactly like that, I may be able to find something locally. We have an RV supply place that has been around since our '63 was new, and they have lots of old new stuff. Or is that new old stuff?

I have a 73 & a77 Overlander both have moens old style, pull out is on ,turn for temp control. All parts are available,or now would be a good time to upgrade to a pressure balance valve, that way temp doesn`t burn or freeze you when someone runs kitchen s. while you are in shower.Your picture isn`t coming up, a lot off stuff isn`t working right since I got my computer back from Geek Squad for the 3rd. time. If you can`t find the parts let me know.Dave

That looks like the Moen in mine . The replacable cartridge is available at many hardware stores . Pull for " on " , left and right for hot and cold . I would call that the mixer valve .

He does not have anything

The guy in question, named Jim, does not have any faucet at all. That is the reason he has had such a hard time figuring out what he needs. I took the above picture from a unit that is here on the lot, at the Out-of-Doors mart.

Jim as been to Lowes and can't make anything work because they don't have anything that looks like this. The way it is configured in the back.

He is putting in quest pipe so how it connects is not a problem. In other words, he does not have worry about sweating the pipes.

I went to price all the parts from Moen, it looked to be pretty pricy. I was hoping that some OTHER company might have a cheaper fix that you guys have had experience with.

Do you know how wide the escutcheon is - that's going to be the hard part since it has to seat in preformed wall molding.
