The flange can be turned. Unscrew it and reorient to the pattern you need.

Good question. As mentioned earlier, you should be able to mount the new toilet w/o cutting into the secret compartment. I would NOT cut into that as it is a large molded piece and likely to be brittle. A careful install of the new toilet should make altering the trailer unnecessary.

Agreed!
I bought a Traveler 510H (not Lite) and the seat was part of my decision.
A friend has a Traveler Lite and the seat is her only complaint. I gave her the same advice about replacement.
You may also want to check out the Low Profile 511 and Lite models linked on the same page.

toilet cont.
Janet,
That is good news. I have not taken the old toilet off yet but when I do I will look for the ability to move the flange around to fit the configuration of the new stool. jjustice

JJ If you decide to use the Bravara, theat toilet has multiple bolt locations and the flange doesn't need to be rotated. The shelf will have to be cut however as it sits too far back. As I said before, I'd look for another toilet than the Bravara or Aqua magic.

JJ do you have a height restriction? if not , the Bravura is great. What is the dimension between the center of the flange and back wall?

Traveler Lite
I am going to order the Traveler Lite. When we do the install (which may be weeks or months) I will post details. My husband Joe is confident we can make it work, and if we can avoid cutting the lower shelf we will... Even if we needed to cut the lower shelf, it would only be a enough to slide the nub on the the back of the toilet into place, which is a few inches. How that would impact the shelf door is another matter, and until we get into it we won't know.

Kathy have you installed the toilet yet? How did it fit? Do you have any installation pictures, etc.

I have a question - how to you access the riser area under toilet where you attach the bolts?

I stumbled upon some of your other posts about an Argosy. Do you have an Argosy? If so, those bolts can be tricky. Do a search on Toilet removal Argosy. There's a good thread out there. you might need a ratchet universal joint for one of the bolts though. That's how I got mine out.

Biggoofball, I now have a 1976 Argosy 24. = ) I just updated my profile.
Where are these bolts and what replacement toilet did you install? I'm not even sure if mine has the original or a replacement, but a new one would be nice!! This one is sitting slightly off center and the lid won't stay up by itself.
Thanks!!

I used a Thetford Aqua Magic 5 Low Profile. It's not China but it works well. Here's a photo. This toilet mounts on a closet flange, just like in your home, except it uses a rubber seal instead of a wax ring. The seal came with the toilet.

TG Twinkie, did you have to remove the lid to the "Secret Compartment" in order for the toilet lid to stay up?

We were able to keep the secret compartment cover, but we had to relocate the hinges to move the cover up a few inches so it would clear the toilet when opened. Yes, the toilet lid stays open (on level ground). :^)

I will be able to keep the lid, I just haven't gotten around to putting a new cover on it and installing it. I don't care for the shiny gold covering on the old lid.

Some pictures of how we relocated the secret compartment lid
This shows the finished product. I wasn't too fussy and left the old screw holes exposed when the lid is opened. Simply move the hinge and the roller latch down an inch or so, and recover to suit.
