OK, I'm probably the last guy on the planet to do this, but here goes anyway:
I used a 5" hole saw chucked up in the drill press and finished off the cut with a 1/4" round-over bit to create a large enough hole to actually use the faucet while retaining most of the usable work space afforded by the round sink cover. Wife (Linda) loves it... I get to live another day
