'67 Overlander | Leaking AquaMagic Toilet - Replace or rebuild?
Hi Forum,
We've completed the 1st phase of restoring our '67 Overlander last month to where its now 100% useable (Ill get the before/after photos up soon!) and after a few 3 night stays in it, we see that the original '67 Aqua Magic HL/SH (part #08420) is leaking from under the wood gasket separating the toilet from the floor (its not leaking from the foot pedal assembly).
Its a small gradual leak, that happens "after" you use the flush pedal. If you dont flush for a while there is no leaking and the wood gasket base of the toilet will dry out.
- Also, the toilet bowl seal (for the small pedal use), that allows you to fill the toilet bowl up with water, is worn out, so you only have a few minutes before the bowl empties of water by itself after filling it up with water.
Ive done some searching on the web and cant find rebuild kits for this #08420 toilet.
So, two questions -
1) Does anyone know where to find a rebuild kit for this specific year/make/model toilet?
2) Since we have to take out the toilet to repair, is it better to just replace with a new toilet to avoid other unseen problems down the road?
- Does anyone recommend a particular make/model low profile toilet that will fit in this '67 bathroom?
Thanks in advance for any tips, suggestions and recommendations!
Cheers!
