'65 Globetrotter Bathroom removal.

Please help!

I'm removing the Bathroom moulding from my '65 GT ready for a frame off refurb and I've got to a point where I need some assistance.

I've removed all the rivets and screws holding the moulding in place and disconnected all the plumbing except the shower drain and a metal disc where the toilet goes.

Can these two items be removed from inside the trailer?

Any hints, clues or "how to's" would be very welcome.

I removed the closets first. Look for screws between closet and fiberglass. I cut out drain from below. I wanted to leave the roof section in place while doing the floor, so I removed the lower section only. Screws in floor flange. possibly some blind rivet behind upper section which I sheared off from face while gently holding out upper panel. Rotate out from bottom. I am trying to coserve storage space by working the frame and floor from the back forward. Its shell on for me.

I've conquered the Shower Drain thanks to your advice but the Toilet Ring is still an issue.


This is the steel ring I'm trying to remove.

Anything that gets the bathroom separated from the dreaded Black Tank would be appreciated.

The Toilet ring is still stuck in place, I've tried beating it, tried all sorts of "Liquid wrench" stuff on it and I still can't get the thing off.

Should it be just a screwed fitting or is there something more permanent involved.

If someone could just tell me how it was fitted initially it might just help.

After this, I'll have to resort to the angle grinder again!!!

I cant tell from your pic. The way you attached it I can't expand it. My 73 toilet flange is screwed into the black tank. There are several screws holding the flange to the floor. Remove them and then unthread the flange from the tank. What I did was to insert a large pair of channel lock pliers into the flange and expand them to touch the inside of the flange. By using enough force to hold the pliers open against the in side of the flange I was able to turn the flange and unthread it from the tank. If you post the pic as an attachment I can expand it and geta good look at the flange.

On my Bambi, the ring screwed off. It was rusted in place. I soaked it for a couple days in PB Blaster, then I took a scrap piece of metal bar, drilled a couple holes to make a spanner to match up to the two studs, and bolted in on the studs. After hitting the bar a few time with a hammer, the ring broke loose and unscrewed. Here are some before and after pics. I don't have a pic of the metal bar.
