64 overlander toilet flush pedal

hey. part of the plastic front piece of this pedal was broken off long before i bought the trailer. right now, we use a broomstick to reach in and push down on what's left. i don't know a thing about plumbing! does anyone have all or part of this gizmo that they would be willing to sell, or could someone point me in the right direction to buy one?

a big problem is that i'm in toronto and my airstream is way out on the east coast (i mean WAY out). i'd like to be able to bring the part with me in the spring and have a plumber there figure it out.

what do you think?

thanks.

Well, it's the original toilet, so whatever that brand would be... I'll have a look around the site to see if I can find it somewhere!

Thanks.

We are removing the toilet from a 62 TW -- you are welcome to the pedal or any other parts...

Unfortunately, it's not that simple. We really need to know what model toilet you have. '64 trailers were not quite standardized yet...I know Ohio & CA factories used different components through out. To complicate thing a bit more, the toilets are built into a fiberglass bench seat with the pedal protruding though it in a slot. The fact that you say it has a "plastic" part leads me to believe it isn't a Swirl-O-Matic toilet (like our '64 GT) - as it's pedal is metal. If you have a picture or model name/number it would really make it easier to help you out and more likely to locate the piece you need.

Thanks, everybody. Shari, your GT64 washroom looks exactly like mine. There IS a slot for the pedal, but I can't say for sure whether the pedal itself would be metal or not.
I've sent an email to the woman I bought my Airstream from, to see if she can provide any further info. The only pic I have is this dark one taken in the depths of winter, before I bought. I guess I should have opened those curtains! And it's kinda useless anyway, as it doesn't show the important bit.
Anyway, for what it's worth...
Thanks again, Meredith

Hey Meredith, glad to be of some help...but even if the fiberglass part of the bathroom is the same as ours - the toilet itself may be different. Funny, (not really!) but with all my hundreds of photos of our trailer - I don't have a better picture of the base below our toilet either...oh well, I can't imagine why not?!

Good luck on your search regardless ~

Shari
